The Pictures Direct Photographers Forum (PD Forum) is a meeting place for all photographers - amateur and professional, young and old.

The Pictures Direct interactive forum and community website is an important part of Ruaux Photography who sponsor, support and keep the site running for free. Many photography forums exist but few focus so heavily on encouraging lively discussion and comments from their members - sharing images in the galleries,discussing experiences,knowledge and opinions in the forum threads. Sharing information of all aspects of this addictive craft within the blogs and the chatroom as well as providing an opportunity for members to display and exhibit their work in a 'live' gallery.

The Personal Profile page is a powerful community where you can build up your contacts with people who share your own interests or who are just fun to discuss your hobby with.

The shoutbox is an online chattbox for immediate results to discuss and sort out any issues or problems you may have.

In addition Ruaux Photography will post details of their regular tuition courses and evening photographic events and they will use the site for online support of their pupils who are at all levels of photographic expertise. All members have acces to the bulk of this information.

In addition to all this there is a competitive monthly project on a set subject and a weekly open competition. Competitions can be lively but are light hearted and friendly. The over-riding objective of all competitions is to encourage members to use there cameras and give constructive feedback to one another because we all seem something different in an image.

Giving feedback at times will entail differing points of view and there will be disagreements.The best way to stifle a debate is to NOT respond too heavily to someone who has ventured on a cautious opinion. DISSMISIVE ,ABUSIVE or SARCASTIC responses are not welcome. All members are involved and interested in photography and as such all differences in opinion should be respected.

We want you to come to this forum prepared to offer help, as well as receive it. Meet up with other members you may know as well as make connections with new members.

We would like you to use this forum as you would a club; to gain support when needed and offer it when others request it or appear to be struggling.

Once your validation is processed there may be specific aspects of posting, replying and commenting in threads that you are unsure of. We have some FAQ's which may help, if not contact any of the members or admin/moderators ( these can be found at the bottom of the forum HERE ) with a PM ( personal message ) stating your questions. We will try to respond to these within 24 hours.

All membership carries a personal profile which we ask you to fill in when you first join. The reasons for this are to encourage relationships between regular users, which is better if you know a little about each other. NO INFORMATION will be used in a commercial way. Only members logged in are able to email and message you ( NOTE: YOUR EMAIL IS NOT ON DISPLAY TO ANY MEMBER EVER. unless you choose to display it within the board. )

If you feel more comfortable using a pen name, pseudonym, alias then please do so with the exception of anything deemed unsuitable by the board.
